At Mrs Brown's Bakery we believe the taller the better, so our cakes are a minimum of 4 inches high even before any buttercream or fondant is added. This not only increases the portion sizes but we think gives the overall look of the cake more of a 'wow' factor.
It is difficult to give exact portion sizes of a cake as it depends on how it is cut. We prefer the idea of giving more generous portion sizes to really allow your guests to enjoy your delicious cake. However, to give you an idea of portion sizes please see the table below. It is based on a 1 inch portion size of fruit and 2 inch portion size of sponge.
